The Salvation Army and the Reebok Foundation are jointly putting on an Active Kids Day at the Reebok World Headquarters in Canton.

The Reebok Foundation backs the BOKS (Building Our Kids’ Success) before-school physical activity program that is in place in 250 schools around the world.

The Active Kids Day will take place on Saturday from 11 to 3 featuring a fun run, street hockey, soccer, shopping, and cooking demonstrations.

The event is free and open to the public.

“Helping children grow up healthy is a major focus for The Salvation Army and we are privileged to work with a partner like Reebok,” said Ivan Rock of The Salvation Army. “Active Kids Day is about getting families moving, eating well, and leaving with tools to keep doing just that.”

Participants in BOKS programs in the Boston area have been encouraged to attend.

The day will include events for children from kindergarten through sixth grade. They will participate in guided field activities, a one-mile run, healthy nutrition demonstrations, and medical screenings.

“Collaboration is critical in creating a healthier future for our kids and we are thrilled to have an event where we can showcase not only some key contributors, but also some real BOKStars,” said Kathleene Tullie, founder and executive director of the BOKS program.
