Several Boston firefighters promoted

Captain Smith, District Chief McCormack, Chief of Dept. Abraira, Lt. Gallagher, Lt. White, Lt. Rodriguez, Commissioner Fraser and DiMarino, vice president of Boston Firefighters Local 718.
Five members of the Boston Fire Department were recently promoted at a ceremony overseen by Fire Commissioner Roderick Fraser.
Martin McCormack from Roxbury’s Engine 42, was promoted to District Fire Chief and Timothy Smith from Roslindale’s Engine 53, along with Thomas Farrell from Fire Prevention, were promoted to Fire Captain.
Robert Gallagher from Dorchester’s Engine 21, James White from the West End’s Ladder 24, and Hector Rodriguez from Charlestown’s Engine 50 were also promoted to Fire Lieutenant.
The firefighters were presented with their certificates and badges at a ceremony in front of their families, Chief of Department Steve Abraira, and Nick DiMarino, vice president of Boston Firefighters Local 718, said a release for BFD.
