Charlestown residents have a chance to learn more about the transportation and construction mitigation plans of the new Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital set to open in the Navy Yard.

The Charlestown Neighborhood Council and CNC Development Committee are hosting a meeting to discuss the hospital’s plans for parking and shuttle services for patients and employees at the Navy Yard location.

Spaulding will present its transportation plan along with its proposed contribution to the Charlestown Mitigation fund and Community Benefits programs in Charlestown.

The hospital, which is scheduled to open in April, is also seeking community support for the license needed to open its cafeteria. The cafeteria will be on the first floor and open to the public.

The meeting is scheduled for next Monday at 7 p.m. at the Spaulding Hospital on 1st Avenue. The hospital is also offering residents a tour of the hospital beginning at 6 p.m. in the lobby.
