The boffo Savoyard Light Opera Company lights up the Corey Auditorium in Carlisle this weekend with its production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Yeoman of the Guard.” It is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. Go here for ticket information.

Compost Site Extended Hours - Due to the recent storm, the compost site at 755 Walden Street will continue to be open to residents (no commercial disposal or contractors) for disposal of brush, branches and debris from fallen trees, week days and Saturdays, through Nov. 12 from 9 - 3. Brush disposal fees are waived during this period of time. The site will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11, Veterans’ Day.

The Compost site will remain open each Saturday afterward through November, possibly early December, weather permitting.

In high school sports, the boys varsity football team faces Lincoln-Sudbury at 7 p.m. at LS. On Saturday morning, the boys and girls cross country teams compete at Franklin Field in Boston.

All town offices are closed on Friday for Veterans Day. The library is holding a Drop-in Storytime for children three and older at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12. It is free.
