The Danvers Board of Selectmen elected Daniel C. Bennett as chairman.
In a meeting last night, the selectmen unanimously voted for Bennett to take the chair seat that was held by board member Michael W. Powers.
Bennett, who has served four years on the board, has never held the chair, he said. During his year-long term, his goal is to "maintain the services we provide to our constituents," he said in an interview last night.
The title was previously held by Powers, who was elected to his fourth term on the board in Tuesday's town election.
