Danvers Department of Public Works Operations Director Bob Lee said Saturday night’s snowstorm caused some scattered power outages but power was fully restored as of this morning.

“On late Saturday and the first half of Sunday it was snow and ice, which was to be expected, about two and a half inches,” Lee said. “So it wasn’t all that bad. We had some wind damage but we lost very few trees.”

Lee said the Ground and Forestry division was out yesterday clearing debris.

“That was fully contained in house, he said. “ [For] plowing we did not use contractors. This morning it was basically limbs and branches. We did not lose a lot of trees. There were not a heck of a lot of surprises. That’s good news.”

Lee also said municipal buildings came out of the storm unscathed.

“That’s very good news,” he said. “Certainly it was unexpected to do any snow and ice removal before Halloween. You expect before Thanksgiving but Halloween is pushing it a little bit. We did a lot of prep work on Friday when we saw the forecast getting more and more ominous, but we handled it well.”
