Power restored in Danvers after short outage
A power outage shortly after 4:30 this afternoon that caused residents and businesses in Danvers Square and in sections of town close to Route 128 to lose electricity was restored about a half hour later.
"They found the problem, it’s as simple as a tree knocked out two of the primary lines on Conant Street," Danvers Assistant Town Manager Diane Norris said in a phone interview shortly before 5:30 p.m. tonight. "And it knocked out a primary line which they have fixed and the power is back on."
Norris said power was out for about a half hour.
Town Correspondent Justin A. Rice contributed to this report.
