DanversCARES, a community coalition dedicated to supporting youth and families in making healthy decisions, announces the spring session of the Strengthening Families program will start Wednesday, February 13, 2013. The sessions are held weekly from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Maple Street Church.
Strengthening Families is 12-week course in which families of children ages 6-11 come together once a week to have dinner, learn new family communication tips, and share parenting successes. Unlike classes designed just for parents, this program combines learning as a family unit. Kids have fun, make new friends, and want to come back every week. Parents connect with other parents and hear practical ways to make family life a bit easier. Any primary caregiver of children of this age can benefit from attending--fathers, mothers, grandparents, or stepparents. This program is for any family—everyone can benefit!
Pre-registration is required. For information or to register, call Sheryl James at 978-335-3484.
Family dinners are made possible by donations from local businesses. Please call DanversCARES at 978-777-8932 x 2214 if you are interested in donating a family-friendly meal. This program is sponsored by DanversCARES and is part of the organization’s family programming. It is free for Danvers residents and $20 per family per session for non-Danvers residents. Scholarships are available.
