Author Visit with Julia Newman
Wednesday, June 5 ~ 7:00pm

As part of Social Media Week the Peabody Institute Library in Danvers will host author and blogger Julia Newman. Ms. Newman will be reading from and signing her short story collection, The Loose Lip Brigade, on Wednesday, June 5th at 7:00 pm. “Each character in The Loose Lip Brigade is as human and fallible as we are. They are paralyzed by the reality of their circumstance. Within these moments of anxiety, the collection explores themes of self-doubt and self-indulgence, unveiling the nature of intimacy and the sometimes un-gratifying consequences of acting on whim. There is raw vulnerability on every page, yet enough hope and grace to leave us satisfied.”

Ms. Newman has pursued careers in yoga dance instruction, improv comedy, and filmmaking - most notably working with Lena Dunham of HBO's 'Girls.'
Her fiction has been published online at Every Writers Resource, and she writes as a contributing author at OutInTheCity Online. Her website, Feed Me Daily has gained wide popularity as one of the most honest, well-written blogs about authentic living through creativity and overall wellness. She will be selling her books at the event.
