Beverly Hospital announced today that it is changing the name of its Danvers Medical and Day Surgery outpatient facility to Lahey Outpatient Center, Danvers.
“We are changing in name only, our providers and services are the same,” said Denis Conroy, CEO, Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals. “Patients are still being cared for by Beverly Hospital and Beverly Hospital affiliated physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, and we will continue to deliver the same high-quality care that our communities have come to rely on and expect, now just under the new name of Lahey Outpatient Center, Danvers”
The change comes as a result of the hospital’s affiliation last year with Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (formerly Lahey Clinic) in Burlington to create Lahey Health, and represents the role the Danvers facility will play as a member of the comprehensive Lahey Health system. Lahey Health brings together award-winning hospitals; nationally recognized physicians and the full range of post-acute services such as physical therapy and skilled-nursing rehabilitation services, as well as behavioral health, senior health management, and at-home services. As a member of Lahey Health, Beverly Hospital and all of its facilities, including the Danvers outpatient facility, are able to provide greater access to the full continuum of care and services patients need to become and stay healthy, in the community setting.
Beverly Hospital retains ownership of the facility and its hospital services. Independent physician practices remain independent.
Now known Lahey Outpatient Center, Danvers, the facility sees more than 155,000 outpatient visits and performs more than 3,500 outpatient surgeries each year; and houses some of the latest diagnostic equipment and services for advanced screenings and preventive care including the Aurora Breast MRI, the only FDA-cleared, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system specifically designed for 3-D bilateral breast imaging, and was the first facility on the North Shore to design and implement the necessary protocols and safety procedures to perform magnetic resonance imaging on patients with MR-conditional pacemakers. Additionally, the facility in collaboration with Lahey Hospital & Medical Center now offers surgical weight loss services.
Other services include primary care, pediatrics, comprehensive cardiovascular care management, comprehensive breast cancer and breast disease treatment and services; the latest advancement for depression with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation therapy, a multidisciplinary pain management center, podiatry, physical therapy and rehabilitation services, blood draw and lab services, and more. Lahey Outpatient Center, Danvers offers convenient extended hours, including access to Saturday hours
“This is an exciting time for our organization, not only for the Danvers facility, but for our hospitals and all of our services,” said Conroy. “We are working with our colleagues and peers throughout Lahey Health to bring the high level of care and services that our patients need in the convenience of the community setting, where they can be provided, we believe, more effectively and cost efficiently.”
