Pumpkin carving contest to support pet cemetery

Pine Ridge Pet Cemetery wants your pumpkins for its “Most Creative Carved Pumpkin Contest.”

Participants will pay a $5 entry fee per pumpkin, with half of the money going toward a grand prize for the winning pumpkin, The other half will go to support the cemetery, which is run by the Animal Rescue League of Boston.

Carved pumpkins should be brought to the cemetery office on Thursday, Oct. 28, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.; and on Friday, Oct. 29, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The winner will be announced on Oct. 29 by 5 p.m. All entries will be displayed at Pine Ridge through Halloween.

Pine Ridge Cemetery is the oldest pet cemetery in the country that is owned and operated by an animal welfare agency.
