State trooper injured in cruiser crash on Rte. 128 in Dedham

A State Police trooper was injured this afternoon in a crash on Route 128 in Dedham.

The incident started unfolding around 3 p.m. and public safety personnel are investigating.

State Police said at 3 p.m. today that medical personel were en route to determine the extent of the trooper’s injuries.

The crash took place near the intersection with Route 135 in Dedham.

No further information was immediately available.

Earlier today in a separate incident, a cruiser was struck in Foxboro. In that incident, the trooper was not in the vehicle , but was investigating the spinout of a vehicle on the ramp between Interstates 495 and 95. He was not injured.

The incident happened around 12:20 p.m. The driver of the vehicle that struck the cruiser was not injured.

The investigation is ongoing.
