The Town of Dedham recently announced that the engineering department has completed its $63,868 "2012 Inspection Project.”

According to a memo from the town, the project included inspecting 43,560 feet, or about 8 miles, of the town’s sewer mains. Information gathered will be used to assist engineers working on the town's inflow and infiltration reduction project.

Town officials hope that the overflow reduction project will help reduce the amount of clean water entering the sewer system and improve its reliability and reduce sewer costs for residents and businesses.

National Water Main Cleaning Co., of Canton, worked on the inspection throughout the months of April and May.

Residents can learn more about about inflow and infiltration on the engineering department’s website and anyone with questions about the inspection can call Jason Mammone at 781-751-9350 or email jmammone@dedham-ma.gov.
