The following are excerpts from arrest and incident logs provided by the Dedham Police Department. All suspects are presumed to be not guilty until proven otherwise in a court of law. A full list is available at police headquarters, 600 High St.
On July 9 at 10:35 a.m., a resident who lives on Veterans Road, walked into the station to report that several youths in the area are outside with BB guns and he wanted a record of it. Police took a report.
On July 10 at 8:36 a.m., the director of a day camp on Campus Road called police to report that several portable toilets picnic tables were turned over. The caller did not want to talk with an officer.
Then at 4:16 p.m., a caller driving on Bussey Street reported that a group of children selling lemonade were too close to street. The responding officer reported that an adult was with the children and that all was well.
Later that night at 8:15 p.m., a business on Providence Highway reported a shoplifter. Police arrived and arrested a 16-year-old. The teen was taken back to the station and picked up by a family member.
On July 11 at 9:53 p.m., a resident on Sumner Street called to report two cars racing up and down Washington Street before turning around on her street. Police took a report but were unable to locate the drivers described.
On July 12 at 6:21 a.m., a resident on Hazelnut Place reported that a portable DVD player was taken from his or her car. Police reported that the vehicle had been left unlocked overnight when the incident occured.
