MacFarlane Energy, a heating and cooling supplier based in Dedham, is collecting school supplies for the Home for Little Wanderers’ annual Back to School Drive now through Sept. 28.

The Home for Little Wanderers program is a New England-based nonprofit that helps families and children living in “at-risk” situations.

For many of the youth in the program, receiving school supplies prepares them for the school year and boosts their self-esteem, a news release about the drive said.

“Children in The Home for Little Wanderers’ care have the same back-to-school needs as all kids,” Scott MacFarlane, president of MacFarlane Energy, said in a statement. “Over the past few years, our neighbors throughout the Dedham area have been very generous in supporting the Back-to-School Drive and ensuring youth are ready for school each September.”

School supplies needed include pens, notebooks, and backpacks among other items. To see a full list of needed supplies or to make a monetary donation, visit www.thehome.org/backtoschool or call 617-267-3700.

Supplies can be dropped off MacFarlane Energy, 95 Bridge St., during normal business hours.
