The Dedham Square Artist Guild is seeking new members who live within 10 miles of Dedham.

The guild is a year-round arts cooperative located in Dedham Square, where members share work responsibilities and expenses, and act as a support group to fellow artists, a memo about the openings said.

Interested artists will be required to pay a $20 non-refundable jury fee and will be placed on a waiting list pending space at the gallery for the 2012-13 membership year, which starts in October.

Then in September, the guild will contact applicants who will be asked to submit up to four finished, current art samples. Current guild members will judge the work based on workmanship, attention to detail, appeal to customers, originality, price, durability, and competition with current pieces already being shown.

If selected, new members will be expected to volunteer at the gallery, participate in events, serve on a committee, and help promote the guild.

For more information or to send in an application, visit the guild’s website at http://www.dedhamguild.com/membership.
