Dedham crews were out and about Tuesday assessing damage caused by Monday's storm and answering calls from residents about downed tree and limbs.

According to a memo from Town Administrator Bill Keegan, trash service was delayed one day and schools are reopened after closing Monday.

Residents are being advised that if downed trees are privately owned, they are the responsibility of the homeowner not the town. If trees are in the street, residents should call Public Works at 781-751-9350 so staff can determine if the tree is a town tree or a private tree.

Trees that have fallen on power lines should be reported to NSTAR at 1-800-592-2000.

Very few residents are still without power and the highest number of Dedham customers out of power at one time was 460.

Keegan promised that the town will remain in contact with NSTAR "throughout the next few days until all of our residents are back on line."
