Dedham voters backed President Obama's re-election by a healthy margin Tuesday, but also favored US Sen. Scott Brown's failed re-election bid.

According to preliminary results compiled by the Globe, Obama won Dedham by a margin of 7,718 to 5,719, over Republican Mitt Romney. But Dedham voters narrowly backed Republican Scott Brown, 6,933 to 6,679, over Democrat Elizabeth Warren.
