Despite the cold temperatures early in the morning, Black Friday at Legacy Place in Dedham went off without a hitch this morning.
Several stores opened at 6 a.m., others at 9 a.m,. and still others at the usual 10 a.m.
According to the website, the mall had several Black Friday events planned including a “Snowflake Giveaway” during which management awarded cars in pre-designated parking garage spots, a $50 Legacy Place gift card. Also, anyone who purchased a gift card Friday was entered to win free passes to Shawnee Peak ski resort in Maine.
“Santa’s Elf” is expected to arrive at 2 p.m. to make holiday balloon creations for children and several stores are holding their own promotions.
Most store managers said they could not talk with the press, citing corporate procedures. However, an employee at Stil Studio said the yoga studio offered early risers an extra session Friday morning. She said that class was sold out and others scheduled for the day would also be busy.
“It was quite packed (this morning), but we’ve been doing great,” she said adding that the mall’s many parking lots were filled by early morning.
Dedham police did not report any incidents Friday morning and Legacy Place management did not immediately return phone calls for comment.
