Marcella Musto is one of six Dedham stars vying for the most votes at the Dedham Education Partnership's "Dancing With the Dedham Stars" fund-raiser at Moseley's on the Charles on Dec. 8. Her partner and professional instructor for the event is Kalin Mitov from the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Norwood.

Musto recently took time to answer a few questions about her experiences so far and her thoughts just two weeks before the competition. The answers have been edited for clarity and style.

Q: Who are you and what do you do when you are not dancing?

Musto: While I'm not dancing, I work part-time at Dedham Savings Bank. I have been there for 15 years and I love the bank and love the people. We have the best customers. I am also a local Realtor with Discover Properties in Dedham. My husband Giuseppe and I opened Vincenzo's Italian Deli in Dedham Square a year and a half ago. I have awesome kids, Vincenzo is 8-years-old and Angelina is 5-years-old.

Q: Why are you participating in the Dancing with the Dedham Stars program this year?

Musto: When I was called by Demetria, I said "yes" right away. I have wanted to do this for a while, I wish I could do this every year. My kids are going through the Dedham school system and all money raised not only helps my kids, it helps future kids. It's very important and I am happy to be a part of it.

Q: What's been the best part of participating so far?

Musto: The best part of all this is the new people I met and am getting to know. I am having a lot of fun with them, with the fund-raisers and with the "celebrity" fame I'm getting.

Q: What has been the most challenging part of learning to dance?

Musto: The most challenging part I would have to say is dancing with a partner. All the times I dance Zumba or other dancing I have done, I have always been alone. Having a dancing partner is new to me and Kalin from Fred Astaire is a great partner. We have a lot of fun.
