Boston Celtics captain Paul Pierce will be coming to Dedham this evening to host “The Truth Strikes Again” at Kings in Legacy Place.

The celebrity bowling tournament will benefit Pierce’s” Truth on Health” campaign with the goal of empowering and encouraging young people to lead healthier lifestyles to reduce childhood obesity.

“Eating healthy and being physically active are the key components to a healthy lifestyle and I try and instill those values with my family and kids across the nation,” Pierce said in a statement.

The all-star lineup of celebrities who have participated in past tournaments include current and former teammates Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Tony Allen, Rasheed Wallace, Rajon Rondo, Kendrick Perkins, Glen Davis, Eddie House, Marquis Daniels, Brian Scalabrine, Lester Hudson, Bill Walker, Avery Bradley, as well as coaches, other athletes, celebrity chefs, and comedians.

Those from home can follow along as the Truth on Health digital team will cover the event. Visit www.truthonhealth.org/live to participate.

Pierce personally oversees the Truth on Health’s signature component, FitClub34, which provides children with information, resources, and tools to become more active and physically fit. The program encourages children from New England and beyond to make a one-year pledge to eat healthy foods and engage in 60 minutes of daily physical activity.

For more information on the program or to get a ticket to the live event at 6 p.m. at Kings Dedham, visit www.truthonhealth.org.
