The results are in for the best Christmas lights in East Dedham: the Krueger family of Stratford Street was awarded the first Rita Mae Cushman Award on Tuesday.

Named for a woman who each year sets up a dramatic and extensive light display and invites the public into her backyard, the Rita Mae Cushman award is presented by the Mother Brook Community Group and the Manor Neighborhood Association.

The runner up in the contest was 69 Oak St., and third place was 15 Congress Pl. Honorable mentions were given to 111 Greenhood St., 70 Hyde Park St., 26 Curve St., 57 Whitehall St., 27 Curve St., and 31 Cass Avenue.

Judges in the contest were volunteers from the Manor neighborhood.

A plaque, donated by Michael Humphrey of Cherokee Trophy, was presented to Charlie Krueger on Tuesday.
