Dedham police chief tells residents to stay informed and avoid travel

Dedham Police Chief Michael d’Entremont issued the following statement to residents regarding the current manhunt for the bombing suspect taking place in Watertown and the surrounding area:

Residents should monitor and pay close attention to the directions that are being given during press conferences by the authorities in Boston and Watertown. There are no specific security precaution advisements for the Dedham area at this time. As always, citizens should be alert and report any suspicious activity. People should not venture into Boston, Watertown of any other of the other areas impacted at this time. The MBTA is shut down. There is no need for anybody to be around MBTA property. If any specific information should become available, we will communicate as soon as possible.
