Half of Dedham’s previously scheduled Jog for Jobs event on May 4 will go to One Fund Boston on behalf of the town of Dedham.

One Fund Boston was established by Mayor Thomas M. Menino and Governor Deval Patrick to support those affected most by the Boston Marathon bombings of April 15.

Jog for Jobs, organized by the Dedham Youth Commission, is a run to raise money for summer internships for Dedham youngsters.

Youth Commission Director Robert Blaney is encouraging business owners to raise $500 and assemble a team to jog at the Dedham High School track from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 4.

Internships will be from July 8 to Aug. 2 for five hours a day five days a week, Blaney said. He hopes that some of the businesses who jog will not only sponsor the internships, but provide them as well.

The event will include live music from Blaney’s youth DJ club, free t-shirts for the first 50 participants, a fashion show by College Bound summer program students and a Red Sox tickets raffle.

For more information, contact Blaney at 781-326-3120 or rblaney@dedham-ma.gov.
