One Dedham officer has responded to the explosion at the Boston Marathon, but no other resources have been requested, according to Dedham's police chief, Michael d'Entremont.

The officer is a part of the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council team.

D'Entremont's advice to residents was to stay alert.

"As always, people should be observant of their surroundings and report anything suspicious," d'Entremont said.

Regarding the explosions, d'Entremont said the police must be allowed time to investigate.

"At this time the authorities in Boston need to be allowed to conduct their investigation in order to determine the cause of today's tragic incident," d'Entremont said.
