Dedham police log: May 30 to June 4

The following information was taken from the Dedham police log. Suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.

Thursday, May 30
Theft: At 11:10 a.m., police received a report of a theft from a vehicle on Common Street. A passenger side window was smashed and a pocketbook was taken.

Malicious damage: At 5:40 p.m., police received a report of malicious damage to a vehicle on West Street. The tailgate was missing.

Friday, May 31
Theft: At 7:28 a.m., police received a report of tires and wheels stolen from a vehicle on Providence Highway.

Housebreak: At 1:51 p.m., police received a report of a housebreak on Lantern Lane. Copper pipe was stolen out of the cellar.

Theft: At 4:18 p.m., police received a report of theft of pool parts on Sanderson Avenue. The resident said they had a pool installed and the worker did not finish the job and stole parts when leaving.

Arrest: At 5:59 p.m., police arrested Paul M. Solomon, 34, of Dedham and charged him with three counts of possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute. The arrest was made on Needham Street.

Saturday, June 1
Theft: At 9:27 a.m., police received a report of a theft from a vehicle on Liberty Lane. Two bags containing two laptops were stolen from the unlocked vehicle.

Sunday, June 2
Malicious damage: At 12:55 p.m., police received a report of malicious damage to a vehicle on Gainsville Road. A side window was smashed.

Theft: At 2:46 p.m., police received a report of a laptop taken from a front porch on Washington Street.

Arrest: At 5:55 p.m., police received a report of an erratic driver striking parked vehicles on Colburn Street. Police arrested Helen Ryan, 50, of Dedham and charged her with operating under the influence of liquor, unlicensed operation of a vehicle, and five counts of leaving the scene of property damage.

Tuesday, June 4
Theft: At 11:47 a.m., police received a report of shrubs taken from a Bridge Street property.

Malicious damage: At 8:19 p.m., police received a report of malicious damage on Pine Hill Road. Someone had thrown a rock through an outer porch rear window.
