Dedham police log: July 9 to 15

The following information was taken from the Dedham police log. Suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.

Tuesday, July 9
Theft: At 7:52 a.m., police received a report of theft on Commerce Way. Cash was removed from a drawer.

Malicious damage: At 5:07 p.m., police received a report of malicious damage to a truck on High Street. The vehicle was scratched with a key.

Arrest: At 8:15 p.m., police arrested Matthew C. Bedford, 21, of Dedham on a warrant for a probation violation. The arrest was made on East Street.

Wednesday, July 10
Shoplifting: At 3:41 p.m., police received a report of shoplifting from a Providence Highway business. A woman was seen concealing a carton of cigarettes down her shirt, but no arrest was made.

Malicious damage: At 7:06 p.m., police received a report of malicious damage to a garage on Rosen Road. A resident arrived home to find the windows of the garage broken and an axe laying in front of the door.

Accident: At 7:35 p.m., police responded to an accident on East Street involving two vehicles. One vehicle coming around a sharp turn began fishtailing and spun 360 degrees and struck another vehicle in the oncoming lane. Both the driver and passenger of the vehicle that fishtailed were taken by ambulance to hospitals. One was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and one was taken to Norwood Hospital.

Thursday, July 11
Accident: At 9:24 a.m., police responded to an accident at the intersection of High Street and Maverick Street involving two vehicles. The vehicles collided while trying to make turns. One person was transported to Faulkner Hospital.

Malicious damage: At 2:08 p.m., police received a report of malicious damage to a vehicle on Greenlodge Street. White flour and syrup were poured onto the vehicle.

Accident: At 4:21 p.m., police responded to an accident on Providence Highway involving four vehicles. One vehicle was attempting to change lanes when it struck two vehicles traveling in the other lane. When the operator returned to the original lane, that person rear ended a fourth vehicle. Injuries were reported.

Theft: At 9:18 p.m., police received a report of a theft from a vehicle on Providence Highway. Taken were pills, a phone charger, and cash.

Friday, July 12
Malicious damage: At 12:06 a.m., police received a report of malicious damage to a vehicle on Scott Circle. Condiments were splattered on the side of the vehicle.

Arrest: At 3:05 p.m., police arrested Alex E. Armand, 44, of Attleboro on a warrant out of Malden District Court. The arrest took place on Eastern Avenue.

Malicious damage: At 8:26 p.m., police received a report of malicious damage to a fence on Colwell Drive. It had chocolate syrup smeared all over it.

Saturday, July 13

Theft: At 11:59 p.m., police received a report of a theft from a vehicle on Providence Highway. A front passenger window was smashed and a bag was taken.

Sunday, July 14
Theft: At 12:10 a.m., police received a report of a theft from a vehicle on Providence Highway. A rear passenger window was smashed and a pocketbook was taken out of the rear seat.

Malicious damage: At 3:30 p.m., police received a report of a rock being thrown through a store front window on Providence Highway.

Malicious damage: At 11:45 p.m., police received a report of malicious damage to a vehicle on Whitehall Street. The rear driver’s side window has a small hole and the passenger side window was smashed.

Monday, July 15
Malicious damage: At 7:26 a.m., police received a report of malicious damage to a vehicle on Bayard Street. The rubber trim around a door was damaged.
