A victim of a hit-and-run incident chased to the car that struck her vehicle Tuesday night, but did not catch the culprit, according to Dedham police.

The accident took place on Route 1 South just after the exit for Route 128 North, according to the victim. She reported it to police at about 11:15 p.m. on Aug. 13, shortly after it occurred.

After feeling a jolt, the victim said she saw a blue Camry speed by. She took note of the license plate number and began chasing the car.

The Camry took “evasive action” including speeding and quickly changing lanes before turning right onto a street soon after passing the Boch Toyota facility in Norwood, the victim told police.

The victim’s vehicle did not have any contact marks on it, police said, and detective Kevin Mahoney suggested she contact the dealer to ensure there was no damage to the bumper’s sensor systems.
