The vacant storefront in Lower Mills that once housed the Common Ground restaurant will be vacant no longer.

According to Tony Paciulli, president of the Lower Mills Merchants Association, Mike and Christen Ahern will be opening up Sweet Life Bakery and Café in its place at 2255 Dorchester Ave.

Paciulli said the owners are still working out the details, but are expected to open in mid-October. Along with homemade baked goods the restaurant is also expected to have a lunch menu.

Owner Mike Ahern declined to comment until the details have been worked out.

Common Ground closed in March.
