A woman said she was sexually assaulted today while pushing a child in a stroller in the Franklin Park area, Boston police said.

Police spokeswoman Elaine Driscoll said the woman was attacked about 1:30 p.m. on Franklin Park Road. The victim told police she struggled with the male attacker, who fled after the assault.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and is being treated for injuries that were not deemed life threatening. The child was not harmed, according to Driscoll.

Police issued a community alert and were searching the area for the suspect and talking to potential witnesses.

The suspect was described as follows: Hispanic male, light to medium complexion, 5 fot 8 inches, 150 pounds. He was wearing a black fitted baseball hat, white tank top, and blue jeans. The suspect was carrying a long-sleeved, black T-shirt as he fled.
