Owners of the Only One Jamaican Restaurant have received city approval to expand the restaurant into the neighboring commercial space.
The nine-year-old restaurant is located on Norfolk Street in Dorchester. Elliot Beale said that there will be very little change to the new space, which will be used for food preparation and storage.
The plan gained approval of Boston's Zoning Board of Appeals on Tuesday. At the hearing, the offices of city councilors Ayanna Pressley, Stephen Murphy, Felix Arroyo, Charles Yancey, and the mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services all came out in support.
Beale said they do not plan to close the restaurant during the conversion.
