Asthma has been a growing concern for many in Dorchester. The rate of asthma hospitalization for children under 5 in the neighborhood is one-third higher than the overall Boston average, according to a study by Tufts Medical Center.
T combat the growing concern with asthma in the neighborhood, the Harvard School of Public Health is sponsoring a public forum to discuss with residents the impact of the illness and how it can be better addressed.
The forum will feature a panel discussion with community members, and Dr. Linda Birnbaum of National Environmental Health will lead the discussion.
It will be held Wednesday March 28 at the Dorchester House Multi-Service Center on Dorchester Avenue. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the forum begins at 6:15 p.m.
