A substance-abuse forum will be held Tuesday at the Leahy-Holloran Community Center in Dorchester.

The forum entitled “Learning to Cope” will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. for parents and teens. It is sponsored by City Councilor Frank Baker, the Dorchester Substance Abuse Coalition, the Leahy-Holloran Community Center, All Dorchester Sports League, and Representative Marty Walsh.

The forum will provide those in attendance with information about the danger of drugs and the community services available for those looking to kick the habit or family members coping with an addict.

Joanne Peterson, the founder and executive director of Learn to Cope a support group for parents and family members dealing with a loved one battling addiction, will be Tuesday’s guest speaker.

The forum begins at 6:00 p.m., but at 4:30 p.m. a teen vs. Boston Police Department dodge ball game will be held.
