Buses will replace Red Line trains between JFK/UMass Station and Ashmont Station on four out of the next five weekends, according to the MBTA.

The shuttle service will stop at JFK/UMass and Ashmont, as well as at the three stations in between – Savin Hill, Fields Corner and Shawmut, on July 14 to 15, July 21 to 22, Aug. 4 to 5 and Aug. 11 to 12, the T’s website said. The buses are accessible to people with disabilities.

The weekend diversions are needed so MBTA crews can perform track improvements, officials said.
