Empire, a waterfront club, will soon add “bottle service” to its menu.

The Asian fusion restaurant and bar, at 1 Marina Park Dr. in South Boston, was granted the right to offer the service by the Licensing Board on Thursday.

Representatives for the club specified before the board Wednesday that bottles of unattended liquor would not be given to guests, but rather guests would be served by wait staff.

Empire is just one of the newest additions to the neighborhood. To read about more changes along the South Boston Waterfront, click here.

Dorchester Avenue bar’s pool tables approved

A Dorchester Avenue bar recently received approval for two pool tables.

The Licensing Board gave the OK Thursday for Tom English’s Bar, at 957A Dorchester Ave., to install the two coin-operated tables.

After a hearing before the board Wednesday, Tom English, owner of the bar, said he plans to move in the tables as soon as possible.
