A decades-long tradition will continue this week as Boston College High School observes Good Friday with its “Good Friday Walk.”
Students from the private Jesuit middle and high school will visit a number of neighborhood parishes Friday morning as they celebrate the Christian holiday and take part in traditional Catholic ceremonies.
Seven area churches will be visited by students and participants during the five-plus mile walk.
Last year close to 350 students, teachers, and alumni from the Dorchester School took part in the event that visited a number of sites including Our Lady of Czestochowa in South Boston and St. Peter’s in Dorchester.
This year’s walk is expected to begin at 8 a.m. from the school’s Dorchester campus and end at the school by 1 p.m.
