On Tuesday night residents of Roxbury and Dorchester will get a chance to voice their opinions on the renovation of the Mary Hannon Playground and Park on Dudley Street.
A public meeting to discuss the improvements and areas residents think need special attention will be held April 23 from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army Kroc Center located at 650 Dudley St.
Approximately $500,000 worth of improvements and repairs are slated for the park and playground at 621 Dudley St., which was last renovated in 1997, according to Boston Parks and Recreation.
In addition to the standard upkeep and necessary repairs that are expected to be made to the 1.96-acre park, rubber safety surfacing, updated equipment, new lighting, and new outdoor furniture is also expected to be added to the site.
Tuesday’s meeting will be the first time officials meet with the community about the renovations. Two additional public meetings have been set for May 14 and June 4.
Construction is expected to start in April-May of 2014 with work expected to be completed in the fall of 2014, according to Parks.
