Natixis staff recently repainted the school's playground.

A little over a year since Natixis Global Asset Management “adopted” the John Winthrop Elementary School in Dorchester, the company reports it has made an impact.

The international asset-management company, which has offices in Boston, committed in June 2012 to provide technical support and mentoring to students at the school as part of Boston Public Schools’ “Adopt-a-School” program.

Since then close to 75 employees have paid a visit to the Brookford Street school to either spruce up its playground or set up computers.

Fifty-five classroom computers along with 25 laptops, 10 iPads, nine cameras, two Smartboards, a one mobile laptop lab have been donated to the school in addition to facility upgrades and student mentoring programs, according to Natixis.
