Guests can take the ferry to Georges Island or Spectacle Island for free on Tuesday.

The Boston Harbor Island Alliance will offer free round-trip ferry rides on Tuesday from the downtown waterfront to Spectacle Island and Georges Island.

Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19, at the Boston Harbor Islands Pavilion on the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway. Groups may contain no more than five members.

Ferries will depart every half-hour between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. from Long Wharf North, between the Long Wharf Marriott Hotel and Christopher Columbus Park.

Children’s musician Vanessa Trein, from the band Jumping Monkeys, will perform live at the Harbor Islands Pavilion from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and live birds from the Mass Audubon Trailside Museum will be on hand.

The Free Ferry Day is sponsored by the Lawrence & Lillian Solomon Fund.
