Tickets for a special commuter rail train dedicated to cyclists participating in the Midnight Marathon bike ride are sold-out, the Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad said in a tweet.

Sunday’s late-evening bike ride, which will take cyclists along the 26-mile Boston Marathon route at midnight before the big race, is the fifth Midnight Marathon. But the special train from South Station to Southborough, is a first.

The event, put on by BostonSOS, has steadily increased in popularity since its birth, resulting in ever tighter squeezes for cyclists and commuters on the 10:00 p.m. train to the start line in Hopkinton.

This year the MBCR, after working with organizers, added an additional train to accommodate the approximate 700 participants and their bikes. Tickets were sold at $15 a pop, which covered the cost of the additional train, the Boston Globe reported.
