City Hall Plaza will become restaurant row for the Fork Lift Food Festival from July 18 to 21.

Organizers announced on Wednesday the names of 30 restaurants set to take part in a new open-air food festival on City Hall Plaza.

Local favorites such as Aquitaine, Blue Ginger, Estelle’s Southern Cuisine, and Tresca will participate in the Boston Fork Lift Food Fest from July 18 to 21.

The tasting event is set to coincide with the closing days of the new, free, nine-day performing arts festival Outside the Box, according to a statement from festival creator Ted Cutler, along with event planners Marjorie Clapprood and Chris Spinazzola of Clappazzola Partners.

Outside the Box will bring more than 200 performers to Boston Common, including the Boston Ballet, the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, La Notte della Taranta, Rhythm of the Universe, and the Smithsonian Jazz, as well as popular acts such as the reunited Mighty Mighty Bosstones, the Blind Boys of Alabama, Boys Like Girls, Buffalo Tom, the Lemonheads, Los Lobos, Siobhan Magnus, and Ricky Skaggs.

“It’s my gift to the City of Boston and arts lovers everywhere,” Cutler said in the statement. “I want families to come out and enjoy all the great music and talented performers without having to buy a ticket. Their growing appreciation for the arts is priceless to me.”

The food festival will include celebrity chef demonstrations, book signings, and a beer and wine emporium, as well as opportunities to sample the fare from more than two dozen restaurants using tasting tickets, which will be available in sets of five sold at $1 per ticket. Each chef will set the price of his or her dish in the range of one to five tickets.

Participating restaurants include Aquitaine Bar & Vin Bistro, Artisan Bistro, Aura at the Seaport Hotel, Barrio Cantina, Batch Ice Cream, Blue Dragon, Blue Ginger, Bokx 109 American Prime at Hotel Indigo, Boston Kabob, the Chart House, Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse, Empire Asian Restaurant & Lounge, Estelle’s Southern Cuisine, Gourmet Caterers, Grilled Cheese Nation, Innovative Food from Jarvis Green, Jerusalem Pita & Grille, Kowloon, Legal Sea Foods, Lobsta Love, the Melting Pot, Salvatore’s, Scampo at the Liberty Hotel, Shake Shack, the State Room, the Bristol Lounge at the Four Seasons Hotel, Tresca, Tribe, Towne Stove and Spirits, and Trotilleria La Niña.
