An Everett man who held a standoff with police for over three hours last week has been ordered held pending a medical evaluation.

Shadane Richards, 18, was arraigned in Malden District Court Monday on charges stemming from allegedly firing multiple shots on residential Calhoun Avenue Friday morning, then holding a standoff with the North Metro SWAT Team that lasted into the afternoon.

A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf Monday, and he was ordered to undergo a medical evaluation and to be held until a hearing Sept. 27.

Richards is charged with discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, possession of a firearm without a license, unlawful possession of ammunition, and malicious destruction of property.
