In a competition fueled by hunger and social media prowess, two Boston colleges are competing for a much-coveted honor: three hours of free food from Roxy's Grilled Cheese food truck.

To honor the upcoming release of the film "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas," the film is sponsoring "Harold and Kumar Munchies Truck" with universities competing head to head via Facebook and Twitter for a free food truck visit.

In Boston, the competition pits Emerson and Boston University against each other. Students can compete on Twitter by using the hashtags #Emersonhasthemunchies or #BUhasthemunchies along with #HK3D, or they can vote on Facebook.

Voting ends today, October 31. The winning school will receive a food truck visit on November 3, along with other "schwag," including free passes to a screening of the movie.

According to the company, a student ID is not required to participate.
