Another local favorite has reopened in Fenway’s restaurant row as the block continues to rebuild from a 2009 fire.
Rod Dee Thai Cuisine II opened at its previous location over the weekend, receiving a warm welcome from the city’s food blogosphere and neighbors.
“Our friend and neighbor Rod Dee Thai is open again #greattohavethemback,” El Pelon Taqueria posted on its Twitter account Friday along with a photograph taken inside the restaurant.
Rod Dee and five other restaurants were destroyed after an early morning fire on Jan. 6, 2009 ripped through the block of Peterborough Street known as Restaurant Row causing $5 million in damage.
It has been a long rebuilding process, but the return of Rod Dee along with El Pelon Taqueria in October and Thornton’s Fenway Grille in December has the Fenway food faithful hoping the block will soon be returned to its full glory.
