The Friends of Symphony Park is hosting a series of free Tai Chi classes at the East Fenway park throughout the summer.

The weekly Tai Chi classes are set to begin Thursday, June 21, and will run every Thursday through August 9. The 10 a.m. classes offer an hour of healthy movement for seniors and residents of the neighborhood.

The beginner classes will be led by instructor Huan Zhang, who has 25 years of experience in Tai Chi Chuan and who has hosted lectures, seminars and demonstrations throughout the city.

The free classes are funded by ParkArts Boston, a citywide initiative now in its 16th year designed to make the arts more accessible and draw residents to their neighborhood parks with community activities.
