The Smithsonian Magazine is offering free admission to museums across the country, including some of Boston’s most popular museums, on Saturday.

In Boston, participating museums include the Otis House, Historic New England, Museum of African American History, and the Nichols House Museum in Beacon Hill; the Mary Baker Eddy Library, and Museum of Fine Arts in the Fenway neighborhood; the Shirley-Eustis House in Roxbury; and the Photographic Resource Center at Boston University.

The magazine’s Museum Day Live! event is allowing museum goers to visit more than 1,500 museums across the country for free Saturday, September 29.

To receive free admission, attendees must submit a request online and then print the tickets that are e-mailed to them. The tickets provide free admission to two people per household.

Museums in cities and towns throughout the state are also participating. A list of participating museums is available online.
