Flush from following six sold-out performances of The Secret Garden in February, the Amazing Theatre Company in Framingham has decided on their next musical production: Olympus on My Mind, a comedy that follows god Jupiter in courting a mortal princess.

Open call auditions begin at 7 p.m. on March 4 and March 5 at the Amazing Things Art Center. Candidates should prepare two short songs that show vocal
range, and should choose songs that are comic in nature.

Readings from the script and choreography, including tap dancing, will occur at the call back auditions, which start at 7 p.m. on March 11 at the center.

Roles available include:

  • Alcmene: Amphitryon's beautiful wife and object of desire for Jupiter. (Soprano) part)
  • Mercury: The earnest messenger and voice of reason to Amphitryon. (High baritone/tenor)
  • Charis: Sosia's shrewish wife and Alcmene's handmaiden. (Belt alto/dance role)
  • Dolores: The sweet, well-intentioned ex-showgirl who was added to the show's chorus because her husband Murray is the main financial backer. (Alto/tap dance role)
  • Tom, Dick, and Horace: The singing and tap dancing chorus. (Various male ranges)
