Dennis Lehane, the author of popular books-turned-films like Shutter Island and Gone, Baby, Gone, is coming to Framingham next month, and tickets to hear him speak go on sale today.

Lehane, a Boston native, will be at the Framingham Public Library on Oct. 6 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for "An Evening With Dennis Lehane," presented by the Framingham Public Library Foundation as a fundraiser.

A coffee and dessert reception will be followed by a talk and a book signing by Lehane. The New England Mobile Book Fair will be on site selling Lehane's books, and all attendees will be entered in a drawing for a signed copy of his novel Moonlight Mile.

Tickets cost $30 per person and will go on sale starting today, Sept. 4, at the main library at 49 Lexington St., and the McAuliffe branch library at 10 Nicholas Rd.

Seating for the event is limited, organizers said.
