The former Framingham State University student charged in connection with a fatal drunk driving crash was due back in court Tuesday on charges she violated her bail conditions.

According to Middlesex District Attorney Spokeswoman Stephanie Guyotte, Brooke Uttley, 23, was arrested after she was observed drinking at TGI Friday's restaurant Friday in Framingham.

Uttley is being charged with drunken driving and vehicular homicide, after allegedly crashing into a telephone pole off Badger Road in December 2011. Her classmate and passenger, Ashley Donahue, was killed.

Uttley had been released on the conditions that she not drive between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., and that she was prohibited from consuming alcohol.

According to Guyotte, a Framingham Police officer working a detail at the restaurant on Friday determined that Uttley had been drinking. Guyotte said that the officer recognized Uttley, because the officer was involved in Uttley's 2011 arrest.

Uttley, of 30 Littlefield Court, Haverhill was arrested Saturday evening at the Haverhill Police Department, according to the Framingham Police log.

Uttley was scheduled to appear Tuesday afternoon in Woburn District Court on a probation hearing. Depending on the hearing's outcome, Uttley could be held in custody until her June trial, or be released under a new set of bail conditions.
