Framingham State University will hold an informal memorial service this afternoon to honor the victims of the Boston Marathon blasts.

The event will be brief, but will include a moment of silence for the injured and dead, and any prayers participants wish to offer, said Dan Magazu, university spokesman.

The memorial will be held at 2:45 p.m. at Crocker Grove on campus, which Magazu described as the grassy area between the dormitories and center of campus.

Magzu said various members of the Framingham State community participated in Monday's marathon: some professors ran the 26-mile race, while some students volunteered or cheered on the sidelines.

However, all Framingham State participants appeared to be safe as far as the university knows, Magazu said.

"We don't have a list of everyone, but as far as we know, everyone is safe," Magazu said. "We are really grateful."
